Google Voice blocked by Apple last year is now available for all iPhone and Palm user, not in the form of an app but via Safari browser with html 5 support. Here is what you will get when you sign up with Google Voice:

- Free SMS (Why pay when you can sms for free?): send, receive & store text messages online
- Block calls (Requires third party app): send unwanted callers straight to voicemail
- Record calls (Not available in iPhone and Blackberry due to privacy policy): record phone calls and store them online
- International calling: low cost calls to the world
- Screen callers: hear who is calling before you pick up
Google Voice is currently available by invite only, I believe it is only available for US citizen. As for international user, Skype is perhaps the closest thing you get when it comes to mobile VoIP.

Since it is a web app for safari, it does have its own drawback such as receiving calls. None the less, it is still free.
