How To Unjailbreak or Restore iPhone and iPod Touch Prior Jailbreaking

Can you un-jailbreak your Apple iPhone 3G, iPhone 4, iPad and iPod Touch? Fortunately you can, and unlike jail breaking your device, restoring your iPhone or iPod to the factory default status is easier.

Here is a simple 2 steps tutorial on how to undo the ‘mistake’, this is a useful feature if your device has been experiencing performance issues since applying the jailbreak, such as certain applications not functioning accordingly.

How to Unjailbreak or Restore iPhone and iPod Touch Prior Jailbreaking

  • Step 1 – Launch iTunes, locate your device
  • Step 2 – Click on the ‘Restore’ button

You will be asked if you want to back up your current settings for your device before restoring, click the ‘Back Up’ button if you intend to ‘jailbreak’ it in the future.

If you want to preserve any NON-jailbreak apps/data, just do a quick backup before restoring
