Top Ten Best Sports Car List 2011

Most of us car owners love the thought of owning a slick looking, top of the range sports car. Here is my list of cars to look forward to in 2011.

10. Aston Martin Virage

Aston Martin latest offering is built to compliment the DB9 and DBS. As with the afore mentioned cars the Virage combines luxury, comfort and performance combined with a 6.0 litre V12 engine producing a tidy 490 bhp.

9. Jaguar XKR Coupe

The British company has upped its game with the stunning new lightweight aluminium edition of the XKR. Producing a top speed of 174 mph and doing 0-60 in just 4.6 seconds the 5.0 litre V8 engine blows its predecessor out of the water.

8. Alpha Romeo 4C Concept

Focussing more on weight reduction to go with the usual technical excellence and Italian flair of Alpha, the new 4C Concept is currently turning heads at world car shows. Powered by a four cylinder 1750 turbo petrol engine the 4C delivers 200 HP and a speed of 155 mph.

7. Lexus LFA

The Japanese car firm are back with the new version of the LFA. Set to retail at around £ 230,000 the LFA continues Lexus` fine record of producing excellent cars. A 4.8 litre engine produces 552 HP and a mouth-watering top speed of 202 mph.

6. Koenigsegg Agera

Koenigsegg celebrate their 15 year anniversary by releasing a new supercar, the Agera. Meaning `act’ in Swedish this new car could propel Koenigsegg into the hierarchy of car makers. Using the latest in braking technology gives unparalleled performance to go with a twin turbo engine and 910 HP.

5. Gumpert Tornante

Gumpert`s new two seated model has been unveiled to add to the German companies already impressive stock. Sporty and technically sound the Tornante uses a new central engine chassis and is powered by a V8 engine.

4. Maserati Grancarbio Sport.

The Grancarbio Sport is Maserati`s newer more hard-core version of the Grancarbio. Break horse power has increased by 11 to 444 bhp and top speed is now 160 mph. Maserati are set to release the Grancarbio Sport in October at a retail price of £110,000.

3. Pagani Huayra

Speed junkies will be looking forward to the new Pagani Huayra. With a 6.0 litre V12 and turbo chargers powered by Mercedes Benz`s AMG performance unit, the Huayra produces 700 HP. The only problem is the £1 million price tag!

2. Ferrari FF

Ferrari refuse to be left out of anyone`s list of top cars and are back with the new FF. The FF is the Italian giants first ever four wheel drive car and hopes to compete with SUV`s and all-wheel drive saloons. The front engine V12 has been built with a new Ferrari customer in mind.

1. Lamborghini Aventador

The supercar giant is back with the most anticipated car of the year. The Aventador features a 700 HP V12 making it the highest power to weight ratio car in its class. This unbelievable power enables it to achieve a 0-62 mph speed in just 2.9 seconds. Truly stunning.
