If you’re too lazy to log into your web hosting server to edit .htaccess or any other custom files such as Thesis custom_function theme file, you might want to use FileZilla as one of your file editor. First, you need to download Notepad++ (freeware) at http://notepad-plus-plus.org/

- Step 1 – Go to ‘Edit’
- Step 2 – Select ‘Settings…’
- Step 3 – Choose ‘File editing’
- Step 4 – Select ‘Use Custom Editor
- Step 5 – Choose the notepad.exe file in your C drive
- Step 6 – Select ‘Always use default editor’
Done! To edit your file on a server remotely, select the file, right click and choose ‘edit’. There you go, FileZilla is now a remote file editor.
