Problogger Redesign
According to Michael Arrington, TechCrunch founder, he is on his desk about ten minutes after he wakes up and then write all day, then he goes out for some party which is if there is one, if not then he would simply continue blogging.
How long does it takes to be a successful blogger? Michael Arrington took about 2 years, 16 hours a day, seven days a week.
As for me, I’ve been blogging for almost 2 years now, not there yet and unlikely to be anywhere close but who cares? It is not about the money, its the idea of blogging.

Blogger in draft mode

For all those Blogspot Blogger, Blogger.com is proud to announce the newly special version of Blogger called draft! Basically the idea is to release half baked ideas that might or might not make it to the official platform, its a playground for trying out new Blogger features before they’re published!
Features on Blogger in draft may be updated, changed, re-imagined, transmogrified, or removed at any time. Draft gives us the freedom to see what works and what doesn’t before we turn a feature on for everyone, so expect us to make changes — hopefully you’ll think they’re for the better!

Copyblogger Wordpress Theme

I’m not sure if any of you guys know about Copyblogger, but recently he has change his blog layout and honesty I prefer the old layout - Simple and clean, the new layout gives me the “being boxed in” feeling, too square, well, that is my own personal tasteless taste. Word has it that Copyblogger is going to release his old Copyblogger Wordpress Theme for the public. I bet it would be a hit among average blogger, possible due to its 2 column layout.
Below is a screen shot of the new layout, where else the above image is a screen shot of the old layout.

License to Blog

Every now and then the Malaysian government would give out stupid comment that makes them look like a clown. From what I read online, the minister wanted all bloggers that host their content in their country to register with the government. Something which is unlikely to happen except for a few, for their own information sake, most servers are located in the United States, so my advice is either that minister fires his stupid unreliable adviser or find a new knowledgeable minister.
I only said ‘maybe’ we would do it (registration). I never said the word ‘censor’,” he told reporters after launching PosLaju’s “Putrajaya Express”, a same-day courier service to the city and Cyberjaya.
We just want to know the number of bloggers, how many are active, how often they update their websites, and what kind of info is posted. It has nothing to do with censoring.”
Shaziman kept repeating throughout the press conference that the intention to register bloggers was not censorship and that it was only a possibility in the distant future. We are not certain. It is just an idea. Maybe one day, not now. - The Star

How to get listed in Google News
google news” />
I guess most of us by now knows that Google News only accept websites that has real journalist, preferably websites that has offline print media. Blogs are not allowed to be listed as a credible source of information in Google News, and as a loyal reader of Google News, I’ve come to notice that certain blogs manage to make it into the list, these blogs are hunted in the sense that they don’t have a steady pool of readers.
I would love to have GeckoandFly listed in Google News, simply imagine the tsunami of hits coming in. Now, I wonder how in the world did TechShout manage to sneak into Google News?

When to Blog? What to Blog about?
With the birth of blog, making money from the internet is no longer a dream. Now, as a part time blogger and full time student, I would personally say blogging is a great way to make money online, especially for students. Most of the time my friends would ask me what they should blog about, and when should they purchase their own web hosting and many more. Well, the truth is - “Just Do It!”
I started a few blogs, and most of the time I’m clueless about what I am blogging about and the direction of the blog and its content. As time goes by, trials and errors shaped what these blog into what they are today. Drafting is part of the process but without actual experience in blogging, you’ll likely stuck with the blueprint forever. Just blog, start one and my advice is - sign up for Blogger.com, they are one f the best free blogging platform around. Don’t worry about Wordpress and web hosting, just do it!
“If we wait for a perfect system, nothing can be done - you adopt the best system and improve it as you go along” - Mahathir Mohamad
Success is a long and winding road, when I first started blogging, I was clueless and lost. The best part is I was told that blogging for money is just a dream, again I was told that the only was to make money is by going to office and work from 9 to 5. I’m not saying al of us should quit our job, take blogging as a side income, do it with passion and the gods join in. Truth is I paid a huge amount of money for the web hosting and domain name not known that I am able to recover the losses. I’m not into the money, but since I’m able to profit from it, why not?
Remember, with great powers come great responsibility. Learn to share, learn how to give. Donate! Money is just an illusion.
