Working life is a bed of roses (with the thorns and minus the free money), I’ve been there and done that and based on my personal experience, working from 9 to 5 is a nightmare especially when your job scope requires you to stare at the LCD monitor for the entire day. Let’s face it, nothing beats being your own boss, won’t it be nice that for once in your lifetime you are in control of your own time, you very own space and life? Free from being told what to do and what not to do?
Have a say in your life!

The illusion of working for someone is that we tend to think we are earning money, truth is, we are making money but the real question is, if we were to work for ourself, spending the same amount of time and effort, can we actually go on making more than what we are earning now? Why waste time working for someone and help building their empire or dream? After all, the only thing bosses share with their workers is recession, I doubt they ever share 1% of their profit when they are laughing all the way to the bank.
How to make some money online! FREE MONEY?

Yes, the magical question everybody is seeking. If you’re reading this and desperately want to be financially independent, possibly dream of buying a brand spanking new BMW, Mercedez or a huge bungalow, my advise is - click that little red button on the right hand side of this screen. I have no idea on how to make so much money online and I believe not many people has the ability or luck to achieve that.
Hold on, but that doesn’t mean making SOME money online is not possible, there is an old saying and it goes: ‘Aim for the stars and if you fall, you’ll fall among the stars.’
The keyword is ‘Some‘, do not be greedy.
Are you sure about blogging?
The secret lies in Blogging, blogging is a no brainer way of making money online, it is simple, easy and quick to learn, require little skills and some investment depending on the choice of blogging platform, we are going to discuss about the various platform in a moment, now unlike direct selling, blogging is fun and it works pretty well for people that is bad in social communication, or hate the idea of begging someone to buy their products.
According to Technorati’s research, one blog is created every second and that’s 86,400 per day or 31,536,000 per year. That is a huge figure considering that almost half of the planet earthlings are not connected to the internet.

The blogosphere continues to double about every 5.5 months and about 13% of all blogs are updated at least weekly. The main issue is how long does a blogger blogs before giving up? A week? One month? According to Technorati, half of the new blogs become redundant after just three months, we shall talk about the reason why people give up blogging in the later part of this article.
Most bloggers started out with a good intention, always with a big picture in their mind. The secret path to success is the ability to continuing blogging consistently. It doesn’t matter if no one drop any comments or someone uses harsh words banging you, the ability to maintain the momentum and chunk out interesting articles is the key to success. Most blogs takes an average of 6 months to built up the much needed momentum to leap frog one to the other stage.
What is the best topic to write?
Here is the real issue, what to blog? I have a number of friends that are interesting in blogging and that is the very first question they asked. First, let us analyze who are these bloggers anyway.
Real bloggers that earn big bucks are usually:
- Geeks/Nerds
- With some good knowledge in computers or web coding
- They tend to surf the net for hours
- Their knowledge is basically limited to computers, gadgets and alike
If you happen not to be in those categories, congratulation! Blogging about computers, gadgets, photography, graphic designs are an over saturated market, which basically is a poor decision, the pie is huge but it is over crowded that it is not even worth fighting over it.
Personally I believe the ideal topic to blog about is what you like best, for example if you happen to be a girl and you love fashion, my advice is go ahead and blog about it, you need not be a geek to know about blogging, there are plenty of blogging tools available online, the only difference between those free blogging and paid hosting blogging are better search engine ranking, which is a plus point.
What NOT to Blog?
Choosing the right topic is crucial, it is like finding the right soul mate. I have come to notice that many bloggers abandon their blogs due to the lack of interest or simply lack the idea on what to blog, usually the end up in a crossroad between blogging for money and blogging because of passion.
High paying keywords such as are the all time favorites, I have seen young clueless bloggers with no knowledge in mesothelioma or whatever took the trouble to register these domain and fill the net with their junks. Never do that. Never blog about something that you don’t know.
- mesothelioma lawyers
- what is mesothelioma
- peritoneal mesothelioma
- consolidate loans
- refinancing mortgage
- tax attorney
- mesothelioma
- car accident lawyer
- ameriquest mortgage
- mortgage refinance
These are some of the highest paying keywords in Google Adwords or in any other contextual advertising program. Sure, you can plagiarize these articles from Wikipedia but for how long? You’ll get caught one day for copying. The best topic would be something of your interest, be it music or art that has a niche market in the digital world. If you’re passionate about the topic you are blogging, chances are you will never run out of ideas, remember - maintain the momentum is the key to success.
How to Blog?
Don’t panic, you don’t need any html skills or web designing knowledge. Blogging is as easy as 1-2-3. There are a few blogging platform to choose from, the current market leaders are Blogger, Wordpress and MoveableType. I would say that these three platform has the lion share in the blogging world and they are pretty easy to set up. Here is a brief guide:
Blogger
- Free hosting, unlimited bandwidth
- 300MB hosting space
- No unique domain name (e.g. your-name.blogspot.com)
- No plugins, limited features
- Central comment center to control spam
- Not quite search engine friendly
Wordpress
- Freeware, host in your own server
- Unique domain name (e.g. www.your-name.com)
- Tons of plugins, lots of feature
- Central comment center to control spam
- Tons of professional looking templates
- Search engine friendly
Wordpress Online
- Free, host in your own server
- No unique domain name (e.g. your-name.wordpress.com)
- limited plugins, limited features
- Central comment center to control spam
- A handful of professional looking templates
- Not quite search engine friendly
MoveableType
- Freeware, host on your own server
- Unique domain name (e.g. www.your-name.com)
- Lots of Plugins
- Central comment center to control spam
- Tons of professional looking templates
- Search engine friendly
For those that has no knowledge in computer or web designing, Blogger.com is the best platform around for beginners. It requires no setup, no coding skills or any other knowledge such as html. It is fairly a straight forward software made specially for beginners, whereas Wordpress and Moveable Type is the heavy duty version, they are packed with lots of feature and comes with some really nice, professional looking templates which can never be found in Blogger.com
Depending on your budget, if you’ve got the money and the desire to blog, then by all means get a paid hosting and host your own blog. The plus point in having your own domain name and hosting server is the ability to get a better ranking in Google Search Engine. Most search engine tend to shy away from free hosting server, even Google rank blogs from their own Blogger.com below others that has their own unique names.
If you are not sure about getting your own paid hosting plans, I would recommend you to try out this reliable hosting company 3iX, its a Singapore based hosting company and you get a 14 day trial. Unlike GoDaddy, you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to install Wordpress, 3iX offers everything with a single click, yup, you can install wordpress with a single click, the only problem is nobody is going to update the software for you.
The secret of blogging!
Determination, this is a very important key element in becoming a full time blogger. To be able to make money out of blogging, one must be consistent, which means a series of discipline attitude. Blogging is not as easy as what it seems, you may have a good knowledge of computer/html/search engine tweak but without consistency or determination, you’ll never succeed. You got to have a willing mind, the passion of learn and the ability to unlearn. Sometimes it takes more than a year for a blog to be successful, remember that if you kept on blogging, eventually you’ll succeed.
Never give up!
What should I do next?
Diversity of opportunities - Diversifying is the key to success, bloggers that seek a steady flow of income should have multiple blogs that spread across different server and topics so as not to put all their eggs in one basket. Multiple blogs doesn’t mean one has to stick to a single contextual advertising company, recent years have witness the addition of a variety of viable advertising options for bloggers. Unlike the year before 2005, adsense and blogads advertising and a handfull of other are the only option available.
Does the image on the left gives you the dejavu feeling? This is what it is like working, I used to have a steady 9 to 5 job and when ever I make a mistake, I’ll get scolding, and when mistake are done by other people, I get scolding for no reason. It is really a stressful life, that is why I’ve decided to set up this blog and make something out from my knowledge and in hope others would benefit from the blogging tips above, blogging is the only way out from this rat race. I am a full time blogger, make a good living out of it, I do venture into some other stuff.
My advice is, just do it.
