How to piss me off with online video sharing websites

The idea of sharing an internet connection with strangers can be really annoying, not that I have a choice, but was forced to because the landlord says so, I do have the option of acquiring my own telephone line but it is going to cost me a bomb.
Long story short, the situation was made worst when I am forced to share the internet connection with 7 people in the house; the best part is the broadband connection quota for every month capped at 40GB. That is like 170MB for each person per day, which is hardly enough. The 40GB cap per month is the ceiling quota from the company.
Since the broadband internet connection is limited to 40GB per month, why can’t these users be more considerate? Is it a must to watch funny videos online, multimedia sites such as YouTube really annoys me, especially video streaming sites that uses torrent technology.
I found a few ways to block Azureus, but could not find a solution towards the much more popular p2p video streaming software known as ppstream.com, its a Chinese video streaming website that utilize p2p technology and it is really killing the bandwidth. As much as I would like to scream ‘Go back to China’, but that is somewhat rude. (No racism here, I’m Chinese but not from China)
Buying a new VPN modem is out of the question, it is just way too expensive and why should I be the one paying for the hardware? P2P technology, it is a love hate relationship. God help me.

How to Access YouTube If It Is Blocked or Filtered
After toying around with my router for a few weeks, I’ve discovered various ways of accessing youtube or any other websites using different techniques such as IP address and proxy surfing. These are simple techniques that do not require the help of a computer nerd.
The IP Address technique - little knowledge is needed, all you need to do is key in the IP address of youtube server, and you’re in, this technique works if the network administrator doesn’t block the ip address of the server. Usually the network administrator filters website based on the URL address and not the IP address.

The other technique is proxy surfing - embedproxies.com is the only proxy site that doesn’t disable javascript, thus allowing you to watch videos from youtube, for websites that doesn’t utilize javascript such as youtube, any other proxy sites are good enough.
Please use these methods at your own risk, be advised that, most network administrator monitor the web traffic and your chances of getting caught for bypassing their filters are literally quite high.

Broadband Bandwidth Management, Distribute Internet Connection Equally
One of the many problems when it comes to sharing broadband connection is the distribution of bandwidth, I’m having a tough time tweaking my wireless router settings, and things are made worst when the internet is shared between 8 people in the house.
I’ve tried searching for a solution and ways to distribute the broadband bandwidth and finally found out that the only way to distribute the broadband bandwidth equally among everyone is non other than the use of small-office broadband router, it’s the hardware that makes the difference. A good wireless router has the ability to set up a Virtual Private Networking with user ID and password for each individual, each individual can be allocated a certain amount of bandwidth, and a good router has the ability to block all bittorrent ports.

When it comes to choosing the right modem, choose those that comes with VPN (Virtual Private Networking), it is worth the investment and almost everything is on auto-pilot mode, this would prevent bandwidth hogs from loading your connection. Here are some really good VPN wireles routers:

Distributing and sharing broadband internet connection has never been so easy, the best part is these routers has the ability to assign each person a login ID and password, allowing you to keep track on their surfing habits. Big brother is watching you.
If Linksys and D-link is way too expensive, try DrayTek Vigor 2800VG, its the cheapest and yet pack with lots of features that can never be found in D-link or Linksys router. Try the Live Web Admin Interface demo, you’ll be amazed.
