The term Google Hack means to utilize Google’s powerful search feature and indexes to narrow down the results to your advantage, in short, you are able to Google for free ebooks, read paid articles with Google cache, download mp3 and many more.
We’re not too sure if this is illegal, but if it is, why would Google allows such search strings to exist?
Search MP3
-inurl:htm -inurl:html intitle:”index of” “Michael Jackson” mp3
Using this string we are using the “index of” and the inurl commands to attempt to isolate directories only. The mp3 tag on the end tells google to look for mp3s in these open directories. You can change this to wma or ogg if you wish.

Search eBooks
-inurl:htm -inurl:html intitle:”index of” +(”/ebooks”|”/book”) +(chm|pdf|zip)
What does all of these weird strings mean? The -inurl htm and -inul html is attempting to filter out the regular html webpages and to display just the index pages. Searching for index of in the title is doing the same. Using the pipe ( | ) tells google to look for something OR something else. The search string is sending a query to google to search for book or ebook directories, several common ebook formats are zip, pdf, and chf.

Search Comics
Google: -inurl:htm -inurl:html intitle:”index of” “Last modified” comics cbr

A large number of comics on the internet comes with a .cbr or .cbz extension for use with a digital comic reader software such as CDisplay (Windows) or FFView (MacOS). However you can decompress the files and read them in any image viewer such as ACDsee. Simply rename the cbr extension to rar or the cbz extension to zip and decompress with an application such as 7-Zip or WinRAR.

Paste and go - I’ve been waiting for this feature in Firefox and IE for quite sometime now, it just doesn’t make any sense to paste the URL and mouse over the ‘go’ button on the end of the address bar. Bravo Google Chrome!
Dynamic Tabs - You can drag tabs out of the browser to create new windows, gather multiple tabs into one window or arrange your tabs however you wish — quickly and easily.
I think I’m in love with this new browser. Like all Google products, it is in beta mode but it should be safe, just like gmail and more other Google products. According to the official press release:

I am a browser fanatic, having 6 types of browser, a comparison between IE6, IE7, Firefox 3, Opera 9.5, Safari 2 and Google Chrome, I can safely conclude that Google Chrome out shine all the others in term of user friendliness, a first for Google Product? I hate Gmail’s layout, probably it is just me with my old ways of reading and writing emails.

Google Book Downloader - Download Books From Google Books
Stumbled upon this web application, it amazed me with its ability to extract and list down every single page from Google Books. I can’t be certain if this is considered illegal, but I don’t see any difference between viewing it from my browser and viewing it from an image manager.
As the name implies, Google Book Downloader does exactly what it says, it will give you a list of url of the images, what you need next is a download manager such as Download Accelerator Plus or Flashget.
Downloading the images appears to be breeze free, it was not until half way through the process Google Books decided to cut me off, possibility they system detects an ongoing unusual activity or mass bandwidth consumption that does not justify a normal reading behavior. Superman?
Is it illegal? Well, I’m won’t be too concern about that, the million dollar question is, is it worth the trouble? Just have a look at the screen shot below.
It’s like downloading a broken mp3 where it skips a beat or two every 20 seconds. Nothing is more annoying that missing pages in a book, but then again, these missing pages does not apply across the board. Having said that, do you happen to know that copyright laws are meant to last for 50 years only? This means a huge number of books that falls within this copyright free category are copyright free, good old books such as Oliver Twist and many more.

The official Beijing 2008 Olympics does provide a much more comprehensive result, but sometimes this can come in handy due to your company’s internet filter policy, I doubt they would ban Google in your workplace, would they?
Having said that, you can pretty much do anything with Google, from tracking your UPS parcel to converting various units by inputting the keyword into Google search box. This is not exceptional for this medal count 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
