How to surf the internet without a browser? Most companies disable internet access by removing the browsers all together, how do you surf the internet without a browser installed on your computer? Simple, via ‘Windows Help Files’ and ‘My Computer’. After all, Internet Explorer is part of Windows OS core system, there is no possible way of removing it.

Click on the ‘My Computer’ icon on your desktop, in the address bar type in the URL (step 2). This should work, if it doesn’t try the following tutorial.

Create a new ‘Text Document’, execute the text document, go to ‘Help’ –> ‘Help Topics’ –> A new window titled ‘Notepad’ will appear, right click on the blue bar (step 3), a menu will appear, select ‘Jump to URL…’, another new dialog box will appear, type your url address in the ‘Jump to this URL…’

p.s. I’ve tested this on a Windows XP machine with Internet Explorer 7 installed, I believe this trick does not work on machine with IE8 installed.
