Math Comment Spam Protection - Wordpress Plugin

This plugin asks the visitor making the comment to answer a simple math question. This is intended to prove that the visitor is a human being and not a spam robot. I’m thinking of installing this plugin in one of my blogs, reason being is that I’m getting 20,000 spam comments per day. I’m using Akismet and find it is not 100% effective. I’m giving this new plugin in a try. :)

Math Comment Spam Protection Plugin

Comment Spam is killing me! So is email spam. Here is a cool plugin for Wordpress, this plugin asks the visitor making the comment to answer a simple math question.

This is intended to prove that the visitor is a human being and not a spam robot. I’m thinking of installing this plugin… maybe… How come nobody comes up with this idea in emails? Say if I send an email from Gmail to Hotmail and to identify if the sender is a human, hotmail will email me a maths question for me to answer. Is this not a better way to filter spam?
