Bit Meter – Monitor Internet Network Broadband Bandwidth Usage
My Celcom 3G broadband has a 5GB cap, once exceed the allocated amount my broadband speed will be shaped to 128kbps. To begin with, I doubt I am given the promised 3.6mbps speed. Not only it is as slow as a 56kbps, Celcom 3G broadband is unreliable with constant disconnection and failure to log into my msn account.

Bit Meter 2 has some really interesting features not found in other bandwidth monitor software:
- Monitor your speed remotely over the internet via an ordinary web browser.
- ISP Restrictions will warn you when you approach your limit.
- On-screen Stopwatch display all sorts of information such as upload and download totals, and average, maximum and minimum speeds.
BitMeter 2 is a bandwidth meter, it allows you to visually monitor your internet connection by displaying a scrolling graph that shows your upload and download speed over time. BitMeter is freeware – ie. it is given away completely free of charge, there is no trial period, no time-limited features, no spyware, and no adware, guaranteed.
The only drawback? Say if I am sharing my internet connection with all of my housemates, it could be nice if we can limit the amount of bandwidth allocated for each user in our own network. However, you can monitor their speed remotely over the internet via an ordinary web browser. Better than nothing.
