According to research, Mozilla Firefox is the best open source browser in the market, but fact is Mozilla Firefox 2 is the worst browser ever in the market.

One of the problem faced by Mozila Firefox is the memory leak issue, initially I was skeptic and thought that this could be a PC problem, or some bias review from the Microsoft camp, much to my surprise, it wasn’t a bias review and the rumors for once turned out to be true. Mozilla Firefox indeed has a memory leak issue, try loading 10 website simultaneously, yes, it lacks so badly - that is the memory leak bug found in all version 2 browser.

Good news for Firefox 2 user, the up and coming Mozilla Firefox 3 manage to solve the memory leak issue, currently in beta, Mozilla Firefox 3 is available for download at the official website. With the memory leak issue, mozilla firefox is still gaining market share - it could be that nobody notice the memory leak bug, how many net user actually launch 10 new websites simultaneously?

Flock, an open source browser based on the Mozilla engine was able to solve the memory leak issue. If you’re a firefox fan and reluctant to switch camp, try some other alternative browser such as Safari from Apple and Opera Browser.

Talking about Opera browser, the browser is believed to be the fastest, at least according to experts, I am not entirely convinced that this is the case. One of the reason for me to doubt the super fast loading speed of Opera is the way it render and cache website. I believe Opera display images and text after loading the page to about 80% whereas IE, Safari and Firefox display the images and text as they load. More of an illusion of speed.
