Trajan Fonts, Sans-Serif Myriad, and Apple Garmond

The Trajan font was created by Carol Twombly. Trajan is based on the inscriptional capitals from the Trajan column in Rome, built AD 113. The Trajan font includes a classical set of capitals for use in magazines, advertising and brochures. While designing Trajan, Carol Twombly was influenced by the style of carved letters produced by the Romans during the first century AD.
Twombly completed the design, adding numerals and punctuation, as well as a bolder version to allow for text emphasis. Most importantly, her interpretation of the ancient style resulted in a font family whose clarity and beauty come across in modern printed materials. Ever wonder what font Apple computer is using? In 2002, Apple gradually started using a variant of the Adobe Myriad font family in its marketing and packaging. As new revisions of its products were released, the text changed from the serif Apple Garamond to the sans-serif Myriad Set (formerly “Myriad Apple”). Today, most of Apple’s marketing products has a Myriad typeface, a very good example would be the iPod. Simple yet beautiful text.
Myriad Apple incorporates minor spacing and weight differences from the standard varieties, and includes Apple-specific characters such as the company logo.

These fonts are usually commercial fonts, meaning to say that you have to pay for it. Well known fonts like Trajan Fonts has a face value of USD22. If you happen to be looking for a pirated version, my advice is – stop looking online. You can’t get it online. Fonts are a very profitable industry and there are virtually no pirated version online – at least for now. Not even in bittorrent.
