How to Hard Reset the Nokia Lumia 520, 710, 800, 920, 1020, 1520 and etc if it becomes unresponsive and frozen? The method is very simple, here are 3 methods for Microsoft Windows Phone 8 if your phone won’t turn on.

Method 1 (Reboot Windows Phone 8)

  • Step 1 – Press and Hold the “Volume Down” button and “Power” button at the same time.
  • Step 2 – Phone will vibrate. Let go of the button once it vibrate. Done!

Method 2 (Reboot and erase Windows Phone 8)

  • Step 1 – Hold down “Volume Down” button, “Power” button and the “Camera” button at the same time.
  • Step 2 – Phone will vibrate. When it vibrates, release the “Power” button, but continue to hold the “Volume Down” button and “Camera” button.
  • Step 3 – Phone will vibrates again, now let go all the buttons.

Method 3 (Factory Restore)

  • Step 1 – Hold down the “Power” button.
  • Step 2 – When it vibrates, let go of the “Power” button and begin to hold the “Volume Down” button until the exclamation point shows up on the screen.
  • Step 3 – Then press the “Volume up” button, “Volume down” button, “Power” button, “Volume down” button in succession. It should vibrate, erase the data and return the phone to an out-of-box state.

    Problem with my lumia 520 windows 10 build 10586 solved. No more freezing. After a hard reset without the restoration l have uninstalled ALL the Nokia Applications from the system which conflicting with the Microsoft application for the same task such as access point and audio. I hope this will help other lumians

      Glad to know yours is a software issue. Mine, I send it back to Nokia and took them a month to replace the motherboard. Kind of sad to know that their flagship 1020 had so many issues.
