People who want to share their political views with you almost never want you to share yours with them. More often than not, they live in an echo chamber where they only subscribe to social media news feeds that reinforce their own political views, this endless loop further narrow their point of view with no alternative opinions on many political social issues.
For instance, liberal that are all for free speech, freedom of religion, equality and more will always try to shut down any conservative activities in University campuses via protest and blockage. Having said that, pro environmentalists will protest the construction of nuclear power plant but close a blind eye towards the radioactive waste generated during the manufacturing process of Solar Panels and Wind Turbines.
There are always two sides to a coin, politics is never black and white, there are always uncharted territories, different opinions that can be valid on both sides of the arguments. The minute a person shut himself out from the opinions from the other side, he or she is ignorant and dumb. Matured political views involve listening to both sides, respecting the other person’s view and trying to counter every point with facts, not by shouting racism, sexism, xenophobia, Islamophobia etc.

The original intent of political correctness may have been good but the effect of political correctness has been to make everyone avoid sensitive topics altogether.
