What is harassment and what is not? There is no black and white, some may argue what he or she said is simply a joke taken too seriously by you. That is why it is important to consult an expert for advice. Always speak out and make sure he or she knows what they are doing is making you uncomfortable.
It doesn’t matter who makes the offense. It could be a manager, co-worker, or even a non-employee like a client, contractor, or vendor. If the person’s conduct creates a hostile work environment or interrupts an employee’s success, it is considered unlawful sexual harassment. It can be anywhere, even in school by teenagers. #MeToo
